Exfoliating Pink Salt Scrub Bar

Many natural food advocates believe that Pink Himalayan salt is the purest salt on the planet. This is because these salt beds were covered by glaciers when the Himalayas were formed, thus protecting the salt from pollution. It makes it the perfect ingredient in this scrub bar and bath salts.

Using salt as an exfoliant is great for the planet because it’s not made from tiny plastics and the pink salt has over 80 skin-nourishing minerals! These bars contain fine- and large-grain salt for a gentle exfoliation of the skin or a good solid scrub on those dirt-stained knees.

Why I love this product

I like to wear my crummiest jeans with big holes in the knee when I’m out in the garden. After a while, my knees are literally caked in dirt – and I love it. When I hop in the shower, this scrub bar does amazing work to get those knees clean.

I added a little sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSA) to the white soap base to give it a little more bubble action. SLSA is great alternative to sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) because it is much milder on the skin, so it’s great for sensitive skins. It’s also a great surfactant – it stirs up that dirt to trap and remove it.
